 Midwifery & Nursing Admission Circular 2022-2022

Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council offers three degree programs, namely the Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery, Diploma in Midwifery, and BSc in Nursing, with different durations of three and four years. If you aspire to become a nurse, you have the opportunity to apply for admission, but it’s crucial to familiarize yourself with various requirements such as minimum eligibility criteria, seat availability, grade distribution, application procedure, and other relevant details before submitting your application.

Minimum Qualification

  • Applicants must be citizens of Bangladesh and not over 22 years of age.
  • Applicants must have passed SSC / Equivalent examination in 2019 & 2020 and HSC / Equivalent examination in 2021 & 2022.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc in Nursing):To be eligible for admission, students from the science background must have obtained a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 7.00 in their SSC and HSC or equivalent exams. It’s important to note that a GPA lower than 3.00 in any examination will not be considered, and both the exams must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 in Biology.

Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery / Diploma in Midwifery:Students from all academic streams, including Science, Arts, and Commerce, are eligible to apply for this unit. However, it is mandatory for them to have obtained a minimum total Grade Point Average (GPA) of 6.00 in their SSC and HSC or equivalent exams.

Marks Distribution

The evaluation of candidates will be based on a total of 150 marks, out of which 100 marks will be allocated for the admission test, and the remaining 50 marks will be awarded based on their Grade Point Average (GPA). The admission test will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and will be conducted for one hour. Below is the distribution of marks for each subject

  • Bangla – 20
  • English – 20
  • Math – 10
  • Science(Physics+Chemistry+Biology) – 30
  • General Knowledge – 20
  • Bangla – 20

  • Math – 10
  • General Science – 25
  • General Knowledge – 25

Pass Marks – 40

GPA Count Mechanism 

A total of 50 marks have been allocated for the evaluation of the student’s SSC and HSC Grade Point Average (GPA) scores.

  • SSC GPA Score x 4 = 20 (Highest)
  • HSC GPA Score x 6 = 30 (Highest)

Seat Distribution

There are numerous seats available for the BSc in Nursing and Diploma in Midwifery courses, and the number of seats may potentially increase as per the government’s instructions.

  • BSc in Nursing Course – 1200
  • Diploma Nursing Science & Midwifery Institute – 2730
  • Diploma in Midwifery – 1050

Special Quota 

  • 2% of the seats will be reserved for the children and grandchildren (i.e., second-generation) of freedom fighters.
  • Out of the remaining 98% seats, 60% of candidates will be selected based on national merit.
  • The remaining 40% of seats will be filled through the district quota system.

Online Application Process 

Applicants who are interested in seeking admission can submit their application through the online portal bnmc.teletalk.com.bd. To complete the application process, candidates are required to provide the following information:

  • Personal Information
  • Academic Information (Roll, Registration number, etc.)
  • List of Exam Centers
  • Teletalk SIM Card Details
  • Scanned Photograph and Signature with appropriate dimensions

Payment Method

Once the online application is complete, a confirmation form containing the applicant’s User ID and password will be generated on the website. The next step is to make the payment of the admission fee using a Teletalk Prepaid SIM. The payment process involves the following instructions:

Send an SMS with the text “BNMC <Space> User ID” to the number 16222. For example, BNMC D7ADEX

Send a second SMS with the text “BNMC <Space> Yes <Space> Pin number” to the number 16222. For example, BNMC YES 462364

Upon successful payment, the admission fee will be deducted from the applicant’s balance, and a confirmation SMS containing the User ID and password will be sent.
