In 2024, the medical admission process in Bangladesh for the MBBS program is overseen by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). Medical Admission Test Minimum Requirement

To apply for the medical admission test in the academic year 2023-2024, students must have completed their HSC/A level/equivalent in 2023 or 2022 and SSC/’O’ level/equivalent in 2021 or 2020. Passing both the HSC/equivalent and SSC/equivalent exams is essential. However, the SSC/equivalent exam must have been cleared within two years before passing the HSC/equivalent examination.

For both domestic and foreign students, a minimum GPA of 9.00 in both the SSC and HSC or equivalent examinations is required for application eligibility. Candidates with a GPA below 3.50 in any exam won’t qualify. Additionally, all candidates need a minimum GPA of 4.00 in Biology in both SSC and HSC or equivalent exams.

SSC & HSC GPA Count

The GPA of the SSC and HSC or equivalent examinations will be evaluated based on a scale of 200. The evaluation will be done by considering the scores obtained by the students in the exams.

A)  GPA obtained in SSC / equivalent examination = 15*SSC GPA = 75 Marks

B) GPA obtained in HSC / equivalent examination = 25*HSC GPA = 125 Marks

Merit list will be prepared based on the number of admission test and the result of the SSC / equivalent and HSC / equivalent examinations.

Condition for 2nd Time Examine

If a candidates applies for the medical admission test a second time, five marks will be deducted from their obtained marks (GPA mark + Admission Test mark). Moreover, those previously admitted to a government medical or dental college/unit will face an eight-mark deduction from their total score, combining academic results and the admission test score.

How to Apply For Medical Admission 2024

The entire medical admission application process occurs online through the DGHS Teletalk website, eliminating the need for physical visits. To apply for medical admission in 2024:

1. Visit dghs.teletalk.com.bd, the official Medical Admission application link.
2. Choose the “Medical Admission 2024” option.
3. Enter your educational details, including SSC/HSC roll number, board, and results.
4. Upload a scanned photo (300×300) and a scanned signature (300×80) to complete the form.
5. Once uploaded, your Applicant copy will be ready for download or printing.
6. Save a PDF copy of the form for future reference.
7. The Applicant copy will provide a User Name and password for the admission fee payment.
8. After fee payment, expect a confirmation SMS.

Easy Steps to Pay and Confirm MBBS Application Fee

The method for depositing the application fee won’t be considered complete until the online application is submitted. The process of paying the fee is described step by step:

1. Go to the Message option on your Prepaid mobile phone from Teletalk.
2. Type MBBS, leave a space, and then write your User ID. Send the SMS to 16222.

For example, send MBBS<Space>FRLGCT to 16222.

3. In the reply SMS, you will receive a PIN along with information on deducting 1000/- (one thousand) taka as the examination fee. To confirm the deduction, send another SMS to 16222 as follows:

Write MBBS, leave a space, type YES, leave a space, enter the PIN, leave a space, and list your top four preferred Centre Codes (separated by commas). Send the SMS to 16222.

For example, type MBBS<Space>YES<Space>456789<Space>15,16,22,51 and send it to 16222.

4. If the PIN is correctly entered, Teletalk will deduct 1000/- (one thousand) taka from your Prepaid mobile, and you will receive another SMS with the User ID and Password, along with the name of the examination center.
5. Use the User ID and Password to download the admit card.
